4-6 Weeks

  • Investigate legal details such as name changes, beneficiaries, joint accounts, insurance, etc.

  • Determine your seating chart and begin creating your placement cards.

  • Make sure wedding party is availalie for the rehearsal.

  • Discuss assignments with attendants (handing out programs, guest sign in book, etc)

  • Decide on menu and estimate final head count.

  • Have a dress fitting.

  • Purchase any going away outfits if desired.

  • Confirm your florist details.

  • Choose music for your ceremony and reception (first dance, father/daughter dance, etc) and meet with your entertainment.


    • 1-2 Weeks

  • Conduct a final check of all wedding professionals and plans (catering, honeymoon, photographer, videographer, florist, entertainment, rehearsal dinner, etc.)

  • Buy travelers checks for your honeymoon.

  • Get your final pre-wedding cut and color.

  • Finalize your seating chart.

  • Supply reception location with vendor’s requests.

  • Make arrangements for wedding gifts to be moved from the reception home.

  • Get your marriage license.

  • Start packing for the honeymoon get your wedding night attire.

  • Call any guests who haven’t responded.

  • Give a final head count to your caterer.

  • Wrap wedding party gifts.

  • Try out your wedding shoes. Wear them around the house and make sure you can stand them for hours.

  • Pick up your wedding dress.

  • Arrange for house sitter, pet sitter, mail stop while you are away on your honeymoon.

  • Make sure all attire fits, have another dress fitting.
