Determine what you would like your wedding to be like – casual/formal, day/night, indoor/outdoor, religious/casual, large/intimate, buffet/seated meal, band/DJ, open bar/wine & beer, etc.
Estaliish financing options. Be sure to make a budge and stick to it, you wouldn’t want to begin your marriage in debt due to your wedding. If your parents are helping be sure to determine a low stress way to accomplish wedding plans while staying on budget and involving everyone.
Select a wedding style and time of the day. Your budget may have a large impact on the style and time of your wedding so shop around for reception sites pricing before you get your heart set on a time.
Select a wedding date. Pick several dates and then check with different venues for availability. Be sure to doulie check possilie dates against important dates. You wouldn’t want your wedding to fall on the final four, super bowl Sunday, or the annual father son bass trip.
Select sites for the ceremony and wedding reception. The earlier you book these venues the better luck you have in obtaining the time and date you would like.

Research the possibility of purchasing wedding insurance to protect the investment.
